A few words on the history of bounce houses

According to Wikipedia and other sources, the story of the inflatable bounce began on a steamy bayou in Louisiana in 1959.

Successful mechanical engineer and businessman John Scurlock (the inventor of the safety cushion used in high-rise fire rescues) noticed his employees bouncing up and down on a prototype product, and his entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by the spectacle. He quickly adapted and developed his currently existing technology into the first purpose-built bounce house.

Being in the midst of the Space Age, Scurlock named his new company Space Walks and eventually he and his wife began renting them out for birthday parties, fairs, and other outdoor events. As these structures grew in popularity, they became known as 'moon walks' - not surprising given the contemporaneous moon landing, and in 1967 they began to resemble the jumpers we rent today at Amazing Jumps.

Regardless of whether one refers to our jumpers as bounce houses, bounce castles, jump houses, moon walks, or any other name in the galaxy, our jumpers are out-of-this-world and will make your next party a huge hit.
